The unique quality of South Bluefield is that many quaint heritage homes from the 1950's have been transformed into offices and places of business for professionals ranging from attorney's to hair dressers.
The South Bluefield Merchants Association started in 1993 by business owner Janet Castle, formerly of Maggie Bennet's. The idea was seeded to support each others business in this area of town through advertising and marketing as a collective group creating a section of Bluefield that feels more like a charming little village.
Also famous for their annual Lemonade Festival in mid- August, it is an event that keeps growing year after year. With lots of good food, crafts and great music it is much anticipated by our local community.
